We’re holding our first ever live first aid session showcasing simple but effective first aid advice for minor injuries, specifically for outdoor adventures.
Inspired by ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, filming at Gwrych Castle, Abergele for the first time since the show started in 2002, we’re encouraging people excited to explore Wales’ rugged landscape after watching the show, to make sure they are equipped with basic outdoor first aid skills first.
Our ‘Wild Wales – Outdoor First Aid’ livestream will provide people with the knowledge and tools they need to look after themselves when exploring Wales’ unique landscapes.
The session covers:
- Bones and muscle injuries
- Foreign objects in the eye, ear and nose
“Wales is truly stunning and we have so many amazing places to explore.
The spotlight ‘I’m A Celebrity’ has given Wales, offers us a unique opportunity to showcase first aid skills and techniques which aren’t always found in traditional first aid training.
The stream is specifically tailored to show people how to react in an outdoor emergency to help reduce their risk when out and about.
We hope the awareness of the techniques used will give people much more confidence to explore our beautiful country, safely."
St John Ambulance Cymru, Chief Executive Officer, Helen Smith
The session takes place on Wednesday 25th November at 7pm and also covers specific COVID-19 precautions and adaptations to traditional first aid advice required as part of the ongoing pandemic.
But that's not all, there are many other ways you can get involved including by fundraising and downloading I'm a Celeb themed activities.
