Infection Control Training

About our Infection Control Training

Infection prevention is vital for public health in order to halt the spread of infection and disease. This short 3 hour infection control training will demonstrate how you should effectively prevent and treat the most common infections within the workplace.

Did you know that around 15,000 deaths and many serious illnesses are the result of infections? Infectious disease can kill. That's why having a basic understanding of what infections are is key in order to maximise prevention efforts. Adopting effective infection control practices and monitoring techniques can help to avoid many of these incidents.

We don't require external accreditation through an Awarding Organisation.

The prevention and control of infection is important because we need to stop infections spreading to other people. Infections cause symptoms that make people feel unwell and can cause healthcare emergencies if not treated properly. Training is especially important in healthcare environments, where staff and patients may be exposed to greater infection risk. Healthcare associated infections can also come from incorrect waste disposal and management of things such as body fluids. Simple things like hand washing and using personal protective equipment can help stop infection. However, it is best to carry out a risk assessment to ensure that all appropriate actions have been taken. Infection control in care homes and other care settings is critical. People in such environments are vulnerable and may be particularly at risk should they get an infection. By taking proper preventative steps, you can ensure staff and patients stay safe.

Infection prevention is not only important for healthcare professionals. While healthcare professionals play a critical role in implementing and enforcing infection control practices in a healthcare setting, infection prevention is relevant to everyone. It is essential for individuals in all settings, such as schools, workplaces, and public places, to practice good hygiene, follow infection control guidelines, and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of infections. By doing so, we can collectively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
