When it comes to selecting a mental health awareness course, St John Ambulance Cymru is the leading training provider in Wales. In the UK, St John Ambulance is one of the voluntary aid societies (VAS) who are recognised by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) as standard setters for first aid training in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981. We don't require external accreditation through an Awarding Organisation.

The Mental Health Awareness course helps learners better understand mental ill-health, providing an overview of common mental health conditions and highlighting potential risk factors and ways to protect mental wellbeing.

Managers should strongly consider enrolling in a Mental Health First Aid course to effectively support their staff navigating mental health challenges. The course equips managers with essential skills to recognise signs of mental health decline and provides practical tools for offering initial assistance. As frontline leaders, managers play a pivotal role in fostering a mentally healthy workplace by understanding and managing common mental health issues.

We offer an adult mental health first aid course which will enable the learner to become a qualified mental health first aider for the workplace.

The course encourages open conversations about mental health among learners within teams and organisations, offering a space to discuss a wide range of mental health issues
