Running the Cardiff Half Marathon is no easy task. From the elite professionals to the complete novices, more than 29,000 participants signed up for this year’s event.
The streets of Cardiff were lined with spectators and the atmosphere was intense. The crowds were cheering, the bands were playing upbeat songs, and the Welsh weather did its best not to rain. Every effort was made to encourage the half-marathon runners to keep going and cross the finish line.
The Cardiff Half Marathon is an important calendar event for St John Ambulance Cymru as we provide first aid cover. We were there just in case anyone needed us. From minor injuries to medical emergencies, our trained volunteers dedicated their first aid knowledge and experience to keep the runners and spectators safe.
Alongside providing first aid cover we had runners taking part in the half marathon. They raised vital funds for St John Ambulance Cymru. We are thankful to everyone who donated and supported our incredible runners.
